#StopAsianHate

Blog (2).png

We stand with our Asian and Asian-American friends in horror and strength in response to the murder of 8 people, mostly Asian-American women, in Atlanta on Tuesday. The rise in violence, harassment, and discrimination against Asians and Asian-Americans since the beginning of the pandemic highlights the deep structural racism and white supremacy that have always existed in our country. Asian and Asian-American community members, we see your pain and stand with you in working to #StopAsianHate. We also acknowledge the persistence of sexism and misogyny in our culture that leads to gender-based violence and the classism that leads to violence and exploitation of many people from many backgrounds. We must dismantle these structures with clear, persistent, and mindful action.

It’s important that we acknowledge, often and more fully than ever, that many beloved mindfulness practices at the heart of Copper Beech Institute are rooted in Asian traditions whose transformative wisdom continue to nourish us and inspire a world where all people are cherished for their infinite worth.
